President Vladimir Putin on Thursday threatened to strike "decision-making centers" in Kyiv with Russia's new hypersonic missile, hours after Moscow pummeled Ukraine's energy grid in an attack that left a million people without power.
Russia fired more than 90 missiles and around 100 drones during the barrage, according to Kyiv, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urging his allies to respond firmly to what he dubbed Russian "blackmail."
Putin said the fresh bombardment was a "response" to Ukrainian strikes on his territory with Western missiles.
The nearly three-year war has seen a sharp escalation in recent days, with both sides deploying new weapons in a bid to gain the upper hand before President-elect Donald Trump takes office in January.
"We do not rule out the use of Oreshnik against the military, military-industrial or decision-making centers, including in Kyiv," Putin told a press conference in the Kazakh capital Astana, referring to the hypersonic missile.

Let’s see how stupid “Z” is. Just because the USA says you can...doesn’t mean that you should.
*yawn*
another day another empty Putin threat.
It’s sad.
Don’t worry Putin no one will shoot back ,D’oh
I think Kiev is going to be decimated before this is all over. A lot of people working underground in the capital are going to end up spending eternity in those holes. Sites in the Ukraine with concentrations of NATO personnel will probably be the preferable targets.
Condensed Timeline of the Ukraine War:
January 2022: Putin says that he will not invade Ukraine.
February 2022: Putin invades Ukraine.
March 2022: Pooters blame Ukraine for the bloodshed, because the Ukrainians did not politely surrender their capital city to the Russians.
The Oreshnik missile carries 6 multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles (MIRV) warheads that burned their way at Mach 10 through the clouds and atmosphere like something out of 'War of the Worlds.'
Empty threat indeed from a great power with the largest nuclear arsenal in the world that launched the first satellite and first man in space 70 plus years ago. Not that long ago under Obama the only way an American could get to space was on a Russian rocket.
It cannot be said enough, neocons are amoral, lying POS.
Agree. I would just ignore it. Fire on Moscow or one of his Dachas this time. What we really needed was to stage a color revolution in Russia and get a democrat who would do Blackrocks bidding. Oh wait, we tried that. Stupid Russians should have gone for it if they knew what was good for them.
Everyone knows that Russians want to be invaded by the third world, be shoved to the back of the bus to their illegal alien overlords, and cut their children up for the amusement of the globohomo empire of terror.
how many african workers will blackrock need to bring into ukraine to replace all the dead uke men? How long until appeals for us taxpayer funded food aid for starving ukrainians, as all their agricultural output will be owned by blackrock and exported out of ukraine.
It’s called our democracy and they will love it.
If they are there, they are involved in the war effort and can be hit.
I had business in Russia once and stayed at the Volga Apartments, which the US was renting for astronauts during that era. It was between launches, so it was available. Better days of cooperation.
First missile shows no damage to buildings; they had test warheads, not penetrators, so no underground facility was hit.
A very expensive missile, and likely only a few have been made (10 total is the number I’ve seen). Ordinance strike could have been achieved with better accuracy by 4 SU-34s.
Obviously you know absolutely zero regarding Eastern European engineers and scientists. Many are brilliant.
Our education system has failed us. We have some brilliant, they have many.
lol
Russia is a 3rd world hell hole about on par with North Korea.
Here are some pictures of Washington, D.C. tent cities.....
