Formula 1 racing has become the latest major American company to buckle to pressure from far-left activists and accept new diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) standards.
According to the Washington Free Beacon, the new rules will impact Formula 1, the FIA, and all ten F1 teams. F1’s DEI charter was co-written by the Royal Academy of Engineering, which first provided a report on recommended DEI standards for the Hamilton Commission in 2021.
“As a sport that prides itself on its unrelenting high performance, Formula 1 recognizes the importance that diversity plays in introducing new perspectives and ideas, and in driving innovation, culture, and business results,” the statement on Formula 1’s website reads.
Stefano Domenicali, the president and CEO of Formula 1, issued his own statement saying that “our sport is rightly recognized for its elite performance and innovation, and we are clear that the only way to maintain and improve those exceptional standards is to welcome diversity of thought, ideas, and experiences.”
“The sport is fiercely competitive, and we’re all committed to employing the very best talent,” Domenicali continued. “We know from The Hamilton Commission report that there are opportunities for us to work collectively to both find and nurture that talent, and across the sport significant change has already been put in place.”
“Formula 1 took the findings of The Hamilton Commission in 2021 seriously, and since then the sport has created a range of initiatives to increase diversity,” said Hayaatun Sillem, Chief Executive of the Royal Academy of Engineering.
Among the measures included will be fully-backed engineering scholarships, apprenticeships, and internships focused on minorities, as well as the creation of a new F1 Academy.

Why do they want to lose 50-60% of their audience? Maybe they need to give championship points to the biggest losers.
FYI PING
Revealed: The F1 Teams Fueled By $150 Million Of Government Money
Despite $25 million state funding snafu, F1 U.S. Grand Prix at COTA safe for 2019
And let's not forget Vegas..
“Why do they want to lose 50-60% of their audience?”
They won’t, just like NFL no one can say no to their own addiction.
Don’t know what “explains a lot” means. F1 is owned by an American company, Liberty media.
China, Abu Dahbi, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, pay huge $$$ to host a race- it’ll be comical to watch the DEI garbage take place at their races.
F1 has been an absolute bore for most of the past decade. The popularity has gone through the roof as everyone is now an F1 fan- but the racing sucks for the most part. It changed a little for the better this year but Indy car racing is better.
I’m on a few F1 pages on facebook- the reaction to this is 90% negative.
There is a quasi-religious aspect to this that should not be discounted.
LOL- you keep posting this crap with no context- its no different than a state funding a $1.5 billion football stadium. They fund the race because the return is great with the amount of money they bring in from people traveling to Austin for the event.
“The first year Austin hosted the F1 race at COTA, attendance was estimated to be about 117,000. Last year’s race attracted more than 432,000 fans. COTA says in its first decade, it accounted for $7 billion in economic impact to Austin and Texas, providing Texans more than 64,000 jobs every year, with the Austin Business Journal equating it to hosting a Super Bowl annually.”

I stopped watching the NFL when they went woke many years ago.
I have not watched one minute of one game since—and before that I was a hard core and lifelong fan.
The only way they get me back is with “white lives matter” banners in the stadium and players kneeling to honor white people.
I am not kidding.
Most of their audience is outside the US. I think the race in Mexico City had 400,000 people in attendance
Only race I’ve ever been interested in is Monaco and that’s more about the track and scenery than anything else.....that and hoping Louis Hamilton finishes dead last every race.
Yup on both...and the women at Monaco as well
Formula 1 racing is a major American company?
hell, that’s news to me.
“…saying that “our sport is rightly recognized for its elite performance and innovation, …”
All achieved WITHOUT DEI…
Formula 1 was bought by Liberty Media in 2017.
Doubling the points awarded to black/trans drivers should work nicely for them.....by sending their ratings straight to hell.
Chuckle.
Wrong sense of timing isn’t it? DEI is getting kicked out the door right now.
Thanks.....shows how much I know or care about F1.
