ONLY due to lack of seatbelts and driver airbag on the ‘56 vehicle.

“...Police Chief Jeremy Bowers also said that speed was likely a factor. He says part of the investigation will be to determine if drugs or alcohol were involved...”
Something else to note...
“...Chief Bowers said officers found the Cybertruck on fire when they got to the scene and tried to extinguish it, but weren’t able to until fire crews arrived to assist...”

That study is crap.
Now 3 former high school grads. Bernie, Bernadette, and Burns.
Yep. The word ‘Cybertruck’ is not just used initially, but is used repeatedly throughout the article, instead of the generic word ‘vehicle’ or ‘truck’. If a couple of lesbians died in a fiery car crash, I wonder how many times “Subaru Forester” would be mentioned in the article.

And that is because Musk is on the current naughty list.
Nope. Seat belts and airbags would still not make a 1956 Roadmaster safer than a modern car.
The lack of crumple zones is a reason why the Roadmaster would still be dangerous.
I’m sure you’ve seen this.

Air bags and seat belts in the 59 Chevy would be pretty useless as the engine tore the crash dummy to pieces.
If weight was a safety factor, those kids in the Cyber Truck might still be alive.
“The lack of crumple zones is a reason why the Roadmaster would still be dangerous.”
Exactly right. Some of the videos of modern cars absorbing the impact and crumpling up to suitcase size, yet the occupants walk away, are incredible. Modern engineering at its finest.
The old school design theory was the heavier and more rigid the safer the vehicle.
Sorry, those cybertrucks look like a kid abandoned his Pinewood derby project half-way through.
