Donald Trump Jr. suggested that his father, President-elect Donald Trump, would boot legacy media out of the White House briefing room in favor of podcasters.
“We had the conversation,” he said, “about opening up the press room to a lot of these independent journalists. … Why not open it up to people who have larger viewerships, stronger followings?”
He said the idea of switching out mainstream media outlets for podcasters like Joe Rogan “may be in the works.”

Podcasters “MAY” be in the press room?
They damn well had BETTER be! And occupying the front rows. They were powerful in bring the win to PDJT, while the MSM spent every broadcast minute tearing him down. Let them stand around the walls of the room.
MSNBC should be in the back due to their ratings.
The media landscape is very different today compared to 2016.
Maybe we will finally have fair debates this time around. Hell for 2028 I’d do the same to the democrats as they did to us. Only have debates on Newsmax, Rightside Broadcasting, OAN etc. Shut out ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN etc. I wouldn’t even Fox as they are Dem lite.
The return to a media culture of questioning the powers that be instead of carrying their water would be refreshing.
But, bringing “outsider/independent” media into the insider circle has a price that could compromise its value. Bargains are struck for special access, blackmail happens, and perspectives get adjusted. Right now, independent media is the watchdog over the dependent media. Of course, only a few would be allowed the club, so I guess others will fill the outsider roles.

It would be better if the Washington Post fired half their newsroom and replaced those people with conservatives. But I see your point and feel your frustration...
Daniel Greenfield would make a first class managing editor.. They don't know it there, but hiring Greenfield would make for a more interesting paper and certainly a more ethical one.
If these 'news' groups don't get with the reality of their customers they'll fail - - and go out of business on their own. Papers are designed for cities - not for the 15% who are white liberal 'elites' or the 15% of any one group.
Give alternative media outlets a PERMANENT SEAT, but make it be a ‘lottery’ for legacy media, like ABC, CNN, etc. When they manage to ‘win’ (roughly 1 in 5 chance, from what I remember when it was flipped the other way), then they get a seat in the Briefing Room for a week.
Boy will they SQUEAL!
They should give out the press passes based on viewership. Reviewed on a quartly basis.
