I’m Technology Dave trust me
“Most highway departments around the world try to put blockades and signs to prevent such accidents.”
Exactly, there should have been warning signs AND a blockade.
I bought the cheapest driving GPS I could find. It features a woman’s voice that tells me to park and ask someone for directions.
Hmmm
Depending on car and height of driver, you might not be able to see over the crest of a bridge. As such, not all folks would be able to recognize that that part of the bridge is out.
I still prefer to actually see the road before I drive over it.
I was thinking of that movie!...............
Sad to say this, but this is India. Seems life is cheap there. A co-worker who was middle income here, had servants in India before coming here. Him and his wife had a hard time adjusting, they had to learn to do things for themselves. When I asked him about some of the monsoon floods over there and how many people drowned, he just shrugged, said “it happens every year, people die all the time, nothing changes”. Ever see pictures of the electric cable lines strung around towns like spaghetti? Hundreds of passengers clinging to the sides of trains?
The car landed right on top of the Google Streetview car that was stuck there from a few weeks ago.
Since AI took over everything, Google’s motto is “Be Evil.”
But it’s alright. The families will get money, and in the Bollywood movie the three guys will be singing all the way off the bridge.
If that car fell 50 feet, those are some VERY tall people standing up on the bridge.
“Recalculating…”
Just yesterday I was following Waze GPS app, got off I-95 onto I-9B and exited on FL hiway 202. Luckily I merged onto 202 since there was opening for me to merge. Had I continued on the exit ramp longer, there were huge chunks of asphalt blocks laying on the road. There were half a dozen disabled cars at the exit right after entering 202. I quickly glanced at one car with front left wheel completely smashed up.
The Indian press tries to make this look like it’s the fault of Google Maps but the money quote is right here “The bridge remained incomplete without warning signs or barricades to indicate danger or a closure, Hindustan Times reported.”
India is a filthy mess.
Most rivers in India run full only during the monsoon season June-July-August-September. Rest of the year rain is absent and water flows are down to a trickle.
Nice try blaming Google, Pajeet!
But with FIVE times larger voters than United States, election results are known within couple of days. Because no one can vote in the world’s largest democracy without a government issue voter ID with photo. We are still counting votes in CA.
