Ryan Kobayashi, father of a 31-year-old Maui woman who vanished in Los Angeles nearly two weeks ago, was found dead near LAX early Sunday morning, officials confirmed.
Ryan and other family members traveled to Los Angeles to search for his daughter, Hannah Kobayashi, who disappeared shortly after missing a connecting flight at LAX.
On Monday, Nov. 18, Ryan spoke with KTLA in hopes of reaching his daughter. “I miss her,” he said. “Just want her to know that, and just want her to reach out – anything.”
Hannah’s family has not heard from her since Nov. 10, and her last known location was in downtown Los Angeles near the Pico Metro Station on Nov. 11.
On Sunday, Nov. 24, Los Angeles Police said officers responded to the 6100 block of Century Boulevard around 4 a.m. Sunday for a report of a death in the area.
While LAPD did not release any details about the cause of death, a nonprofit that is believed to be aiding in the search provided a statement on behalf of the family.
“The Kobayashi family endured a devastating tragedy today,” wrote the RAD Movement. “After tirelessly searching throughout Los Angeles for 13 days, Hannah’s father, Ryan Kobayashi, tragically took his own life. This loss has compounded the family’s suffering immeasurably.”

Where’s the mom? has she been involved in any of the reporting?
He may if he is of Japanese heritage and therefore feels guilt and despair for her untraditional life, even if unwarranted.
Nevermind on my comment about her not being at LAX as there appears to be video of her there. Her comment about being hacked and robbed by someone she loved could have been her dad though. I guess we’ll know soon enough

Surveillance footage shows Kobayashi boarding a Metro at Pico Station at 10 p.m. on Nov. 18.“We’re trying to make them take us seriously because it’s been 11 days,” said Laire Pidgeon, Kobayashi’s aunt. “Just because she doesn’t have a mental illness and just because she is not elderly doesn’t mean something didn’t happen to her.”
Kobayashi was last seen wearing black leggings, a tie-dye sweatshirt and a green backpack.
Any information regarding her whereabouts should be reported to LAPD.
I just looked up seppuku. That’s what I call commitment.

I don’t believe for one minute that there is not clear video of whoever went through those air ports. There are cameras everywhere.

I still think she faked her own death/disappearance. But that’s just my two cents.

I’d have to see evidence before I believed he actually committed suicide. Maybe he found his daughter and was taken out by whomever had captured her.
