No, the federal attorneys.
They could of at least forced Kamala take the 11 hour flight back to DC to settle the issue. I really don’t think she cares, another reason she lost. Braun is moving on like Mancin And Sienma. All 3 are telling their party where to stick it.
Perhaps Cruz should be kicked upstairs to SCOTUS. I always thought he’s best where he is until now. I once felt that way about Oren Hatch in Utah. They all become stale.
That pix of Liz Cheney with Adam Kinzinger comes to mind. They too told their party to "stick it." Then their constituents returned the favor.
what makes “judges” have the right to get a lifetime position and paycheck?
RBG is living proof (well not anymore) that there should be no lifetime appointment. She spend her last 2-3 years dying and suffering from cancer. Do you REALLY think she was of sound and mind for decisions that affect the lives of hundreds of millions of Americans?
NO SHE WASN’T
my grandfather also worked until the day he died. he was a CPA. he was dying of cancer, falling asleep in his chair at the office etc.....it was clear to all of us he was not functioning properly and should have prepared on what to with his business after he died. perhaps if he just called it a day and enjoyed his last days on earth, he may have had a couple of extra weeks on this earth.
“what makes “judges” have the right to get a lifetime position and paycheck?”
Uh, the constitution.
hence why it is time for a constitution 2.0........
thats right.
the 2nd Amendment also needs to be modified to the right to bear arms AND USE THEM IN SELF DEFENSE
the past few years are proving that a lot of system is broken
The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish. The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour, and shall, at stated Times, receive for their Services, a Compensation, which shall not be diminished during their Continuance in Office.
And....
"The United States Senate has removed judges from office for substantial questionable conduct, even if no crime was committed. For example, Judge Robert Wodrow Archbald was impeached and removed from office for improper business relationships with litigants. One reason for this may be the life tenure bestowed upon federal judges and the Congress' place in upholding the good behavior of judges."
several Republicans involved with the Trump transition process have been missing votes.
the choice is obvious, hang out with President trump OR stay in DC just in case they try to ram a judge or two thru confirmation.
“No telling if they would have played along had Cruz/Braun had showed up but their vote on the filibuster suggests otherwise.”
***********
Very good point.
I’m impressed with your insight. ;)
Trump’s problems with the Republicans are just beginning IMO.
The GOP is only good at one thing: snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. They don’t really want to lead.
and if anyone can define “good behaviour” then I’m all game.
like i mentioned earlier, there are parts of the US constitution that need an overhaul.
RBG should NOT have been on the bench in her last couple of years.
and lower court judges who are in their nineties on senior status and aren’t even hearing cases anymore should not be on the payroll.
This is, clearly, the RINO deep state striking its first blow in the coming battle they will wage to castrate President Trump’s efforts to restore freedom & liberty over the next four years...
It’s 2017->2020 all over again...
So, just more “later to be overturned” decision are a comin’.
