This morning, I used duckduckgo to do a search for Trump's pick for Secretary of Transportation. This is a relatively noncontroversial appointment. Sean Duffy, a Fox News contributor and former Congressman from Wisconsin, was chosen. The first 17 picks were from liberal websites (CNN, AP, NBC, MSN, NPR, CBS, BBC, Reuters, Washington Post, USA Today, MSN, MSN, Politico, New York Times, MSN, Politico, MSN). It was not until the 18th pick that a conservative website (Redstate) came up.
The search results were no better than Google, in fact even worse, as the 11th pick there was from a neutral site (Waste Dive, a trade publication).
DuckDuckGo’s search results come from over 400 sources, including Bing, Yahoo! Search BOSS, Wolfram Alpha, and Yandex. DuckDuckGo also uses its own web crawler, DuckDuckBot, and crowdsourced sites like Wikipedia. Most are on the left
I’ve noticed that as well.....search results are almost identical to google
All of the search engines are left-wing propaganda. It amazes me that there are no right-wing created search engines.
DuckDuckGo never claimed to be right-leaning or neutral. It only claims to help block the tracking of your activity by advertisers.
Duck Duck Go is Google.
I hear the independent, free-thinking, sentient ‘AI’ will save us from all that. Just wait.
Tapeworms have a built-in bias.
For this reason I use Brave’s search.
Search.brave.com is neutral.
If we ever get independent and free thinking AI we are in big trouble.
It will quickly decide that humans are harming the planet and need to be eradicated.
:-(
Add the Brave Search engine to your browser.
Search engine:
Brave
Keyword: ( note this can be any shortcut, example “:br” instead of “brave.com” )
brave.com
URL with %s in place of query:
https://search.brave.com/search?q=%s&source=desktop
I use Startpage for most of my searches.
Thanks. I will have to try that one.
Duck Duck Go has a tracking deal with Microsoft
Yep, DDG is getting bad. And if you search videos they are ALL exclusively bias Youtube, no other video providers at all.
If you chance your search terms, you get the results you want.
