Las Vegas woman found dead in her freezer weeks after calling 911 concerned about her accused killer

A Las Vegas woman’s body was found stuffed inside her freezer weeks after she called the cops with concerns about her ex-roommate who’s since been accused of killing her and living alongside her body...

Monique Gilbertson, 68, was found inside the icebox of her home after police responded to a wellness check request by an employee in her 55-and-older community...

“She called you guys about two weeks ago,” the employee told a dispatcher in the 911 call

The roommate, 37-year-old Daniel Roush, met Gilbertson at a store and she invited him to move in with her, according to arrest documents ...

Though originally they got along, Gilbertson became “upset about how filthy Roush was,” and kicked him out around Oct. 22 and changed the locks...

The employee who called for the wellness check told police that Gilbertson would call the property management office several times a day, but around the same date — Oct. 22, the calls stopped.

Documents did not indicate how police suspect Gilbertson may have died, only that she was located in the freezer and that there was little blood.

Roush has been charged with second-degree murder for the death of Monique Gilbertson. As of Friday, Gilbertson’s cause and manner of death were still pending.

Interestingly, I learned an important biblical principle from circumstances similar but much, much milder (thank God...) from these.

I had an acquaintance/friend who got hospitalized because the apt. complex he was in had black mold and the doctors said when he was being discharged, “under no circumstances are you to return to that apt.”. He called desperately looking for someplace to crash and I said, “sure... until you get better”.

Before I get to the point, one wrinkle. He was the sales person for the developer that built my house, that’s how I knew him. Also, (and ironically) he lived in the same horrible apt complex (extremely nice looking, run by evil ppl) I had previous to my house being built. So compassion seemed warranted. Dude came in and decided to do things his way in my house. After about 6 weeks I told him, “You are better time to go”. Now to be sure he has acquired properties to rent so he was more well off than I so it wasn’t harsh.

So here’s what I learned. In the parable of the good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) the proper way to help is to be prepared and willing to help those in need, esp. exterme need. But nowhere in that parable did it say, “take the person home”. Not even an implication of such and that can even (unfortunately) extend to family. I also learned that reading the Bible and understanding the Bible sometimes takes experience in addition to the reading part.

So, I’m prepared to help like I did before but 14-21 days at a motel or some such. But in my home where I sleep?

No gonna happen...

Don’t forget Ira Einhorn, the founder of Earth Day (Lenin’s birthday), who killed his girlfriend and hid her corpse in a chest in his closet for several years. Fled to France when it was discovered and stayed there for about 20 years. Finally extradited back to the USA and stood trial for murder about 10 years back.
