Russia wants Kursk back before negotiations. Ukraine isn’t budging.

Ukrainian troops are facing down a ferocious Russian counteroffensive in Kursk as Putin seeks to take back Russian land before any talks.

The fight to control some 200 square miles of land in western Russia became even more brutal in recent days as the Kremlin, ahead of possible negotiations with the incoming Trump administration to end the war, appears set on removing Russian territory from the equation.

-snip-

The timing appears to demonstrate the Kremlin’s growing appreciation for how Kursk may play into future talks: If negotiations are to occur, Russia wants to make sure only Ukrainian land is up for debate.

“It is clear that Moscow will not start any negotiations until they have kicked out every last Ukrainian soldier from Kursk,” Konstantin Remchukov, the editor in chief of Nezavisimaya Gazeta who moves in Kremlin circles, told The Washington Post. Russian President Vladimir Putin does not want Kursk to be used as a bargaining chip — nor does he want to be forced to relinquish any of the Ukrainian territory he has captured since Russia’s invasion, Remchukov added. Putin’s recent mentions that any deal needs to reflect the “realities on the ground” refers to Russia’s hopes to recapture Kursk, he said.

You're literally giving credence to a Gaslight Media "news" source - one that just got done gaslighting the entire country about KamaLOL's strength as a presidential candidate.

Here, we see them gaslighting us about The Ukraine.

Yes, a proxy war. How dare Ukraine defend itself from a Russian invasion. And how dare anyone help them. The arrogance!

Neither of them really want negotiations.

What’s mine is mine and what’s yours is negotiable. The Old Bolshevik in Putin always reveals itself to the knowledgeable observer.

Well, they must be really happy that their saviours have pounded their entire region into a Somme-like landscape, instead of losing

The only side targeting the part of Donetsk and Lugansk that has been free for the past 10 years is the Ukrainians. They have been targeting and killing civilians there FOR 10 YEARS.

Stop pretending the neo-Nazis in Ukraine are anything but ruthless scum.

Propaganda? There hasn't more laughable propaganda about this war than from the British government and press.

Putin is dead and Russia is using a body double in his place. Putin has blood, stomach and thyroid cancer.

Russia was running of ammo and missiles every two weeks during the first six months of the war according to the British media.

Propagandists like Marcus get their bullsh$t first and foremost from the British media.

Your government and press have less credibility than Baghdad Bob.

It's your government under Kier Starmers that is resembling the old Soviet Union while you're obsessed with Russia. That makes a blithering idiot. The UK is a dumpster fire.

What are you going to do when Trump cuts off military funding for the war? Are you Brits going to grow a pair and declare war on Russia? Of course not, you're gutless wonders.

Zeepers deny the coup.

They disgust me. They are either painfully ignorant or intentionally trying to cover up the corruption within Deep State.

I supposed they'd have us to believe the CIA and NGOS isn't trying foment a coup in Georgia since it passed the foreign agent law.

It's amusing that some of them that claimed that have mysteriously gone AWOL, like Chad C. Mulligan.

There will be a peace deal as soon as Trump cuts off military aid to Ukraine.

Russia could also decide to take out the entire electric grid in Ukraine and that would force a surrender.

Oh stop the lies. This myth that the Ukrainians were targeting civilians in Donbas is pure Russian propaganda. That Russia would utilize it is a sign of how little their actions are justifiable.

If they could have they would have. If there is one thing that the Russians have not shown is constraint.

Sure. Kiev is facing eight to 20 blackouts this winter but the Russians are incapable of finishing off the electric grid completely.

The Russians, you fool, are being merciful, far more than the Ukrainian government that has been rounding up conscripts against their will and sending them to the frontlines to die.

This myth that the Ukrainians were targeting civilians in Donbas

I've seen the videos of the civilians that have been targeted in Donetsk.

Your lovely Ukrainian army dropped butterfly mines in Donetsk city that took off the leg of a guy in a video I saw.

Everything you claim is true about Russia is actually true of Ukraine.

You don't want to know the truth. You can't handle the truth.

But, the vast majority of the world does know.

Look at the numbers that your own “Donetsk Republic” and “Luhansk Republic” reported before the Russian invasion and you will see that your claim is false. I have gone over this with you many times in the past but you do not want to acknowledge the truth. Now compare those numbers with the civilians that the Russians have killed in the past 2 1/2 years. The numbers are staggering. The Russians lie but the numbers do not match their lies.

Given that no such numbers exist, I assume you're making things up again.

It goes to follow some of the population was killed fighting to liberate their homeland.

I guarantee both of lost far less population than the rest of Ukraine. Between deaths and those fleeing conscription, Ukraine's population is problem half of what it was before the war.

I have posted the number before. Look at ukraine.un.org, from the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. There are plenty of statistics, and they use reports from DPR and LPR. Just a summary:

TOTAL CONFLICT-RELATED CIVILIAN DEATH, FROM 2014-2021

2014: 2084
2015: 955
2016: 112
2017: 117
2018: 58
2019: 27
2020: 26
2021: 25
As can be seen, the vast majority of these were in the first two years, when both sides were using unguided Grad missiles. Their use in urban areas would naturally lead to unintended civilian casualties. The casualties latter drop off drastically. And these were mostly from abandoned landmines and unexploded ordinance, not from shelling. Were civilian casualties? Yes. Was there deliberate targeting of civilians? No. Now compare this with the more than 30,000 Ukrainian civilian deaths caused by the Russians since their invasion. How can you justify Russia's actions? All of this has been point out to you before but you continue with your lies.

Did you miss the point that they were getting numbers from DPR and LPR, i.e., the Donetsk Peoples’ Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic? And if there are no statistics coming from those two sources, how can you make the claim for this vast attempt at genocide directed against the ethnic Russians? Are you just making it up?
