It's friday, have fun and flame away.
Gary R’s guitar work and soloing on ‘roll with the changes’ is amazing. Same with his playing on ‘back on the road again’ too. One of the greats.
An awesome song!
Growing up, I always wondered what Kevin Cronin says at the very beginning. “Blast off people!” or “Last song people!”
Check out their original relatively lifeless but still good studio version of this song.
Great band.
Great band! First saw them in 1976.

AWESOME!!!!!

Back in the early 70s when I was only 13 my dad used to take us to a restaurant on the southside of Indianapolis called the Stable Influence that had bands as entertainment. They had the best steak on the southside of Indy. They also had this band from Illinois that came regularly called REO Speedwagon.our whole family loved them. This was before Kevin Cronin was the lead singer. We never missed a show. Damn good times.
The American Heritage Museum in the Boston area has the best collection of tanks on display in the Western hemisphere. Worth going to for that.
They also have a good antique vehicle collection, which includes an REO Speedwagon. Which of course has an REO album propped up on the hood, or did when I was there.
The REO Speedwagon was the commercial pickup truck of the era, and was adapted for many uses - ambulances, fire trucks, milk wagons, ice trucks, you name it.
And what does REO stand for? Ransom Eli Olds, of course! AKA the namesake of Oldsmobile.
Saw them in concert in 75-76 in Spokane, You can’t tune a piano album. They were the opening act for Tower of Power. Yeah, it was a great concert.
I was there
