All eyes were on Donald Trump's transition team Thursday, after a series of provocative and startling cabinet choices that showed the president-elect's preference for absolute loyalty above experience or expertise.
Trump has been rapidly rolling out his foreign policy and national security picks, but he is expected to shift focus over the coming days to key figures to enact his domestic agenda.
The Republican leader has yet to select treasury and commerce chiefs to help set tax and trade policy, a health secretary to oversee abortion, transgender care and a host of other potential flashpoints, or someone for education -- a department Trump wants to abolish.
He told podcaster Joe Rogan in an interview before last week's presidential election that his biggest mistake during his first term in the White House was hiring "bad people, or disloyal people."

Personality is Policy.
Trump’s picks are a policy Blitzkrieg.
It’s certainly a Declaration of Intent.
Word games - Republicans are “divisive” - Dems are “bold.”
Elections have consequences.
“Your side lost, John.”
That’s all Trump needs to say. Recess appointments. Obama did over 100. Trump can do the same.
Steamroll it ahead.
Trump can do something like the shrinks do: Psychological flooding.
Just DUMP all these picks, then the secret files (JFK, UFOs) and push push push forward so quickly he can dominate the next four years.
MSM won’t be able to manipulate the public opinion with X in control of Musk, the online interviews, and media will have to cover all of the revelations.
If anything, the last four terrible years of the most incompetent administration in US history (even Jimmuh Carter’s wasn’t this bad) proves that Washington definitely needs to be shocked. I’d say a 1000 volts of conservatism and common sense would be a good start.
McCain would not approve. Lol. Rush used to crack me up with his McCain impression. “Cross the aisle...” lolol.
If Mayor Pete can be a Secretary of anything, so can Gaetz. Between Obama and Biden, enough precedent was set to make Gaetz a shoo-in.
He also hasn’t selected someone for Interior, HHS, Agriculture, HUD and others. The fun hasn’t ended yet
[divisive picks] == [bother the DC Deep State]
Trump just won a landslide victory. He promised to clean the swamp, close the border, and send the “migrants” back home.
So he’s keeping his campaign promises. That’s causing a lot of angst among the people he defeated.
As Saint Barack said: “elections have consequences.”
Divisive? Not to Trump’s base.
It’s a shock to the system.
I’d rather he released these picks all at one time after the background checks are complete and the governors have MAGA replacements ready to go. The drip drip drip gives the resistance something to rally together against versus continuing their internal fighting about the loss.
Agreed. This lets the narrative get too easily carried away.
Two of the top concerns for voters in this election were the border and crime (the others being the economy/inflation and energy). Trump’s picks intend to address all of these issues. Campaign promises will be addressed. A novel concept for most in DC and the liberals.
Yeah, like Merrick Garland, Alejandro Mayorkas, and Antony Blinken weren’t divisive?
Most important, keep the base energized.
“What this town needs is an enema”
rinos gladly confirmed them in the Senate.
but they choke on trumps selections...
Divisive ?
Who is it dividing?
Better reinforce the sewer system first.
“absolute loyalty”
What a crock of shee-it. It’s holding the deep state swamp to
account for their decade-long illegal attacks on Trump. It’s the restoration of the rule of law. It’s saying “no man is above the law.” It’s the first steps toward restoring the Republic.
