Religion: Human Irrationality

From a purely logic standpoint, God and religion are irrational. Loving someone who hates you or is crucifying you does seem illogical. The Bible tells us God is Love. Therefore the principles of the universe deep down are based on love. A machine would have a hard time accepting that because it defies logic.

There are at least seven different definitions of the English word "love"; but they all seem to involve the issue of preferences. But to "prefer" requires making a choice, which needs not being logical, or even rational.

In Koine Greek, ἀγαπάω (ahgahpahoh) and φιλέω (fihlehoh), both verbs, are not the same at all in meaning, but are translated into the English word "love," leading to huge doctrinal misunderstandings, even divisions into sects or cults.

So much for philosophy, eh?
