That is going to be tricky. It is going to take an army of lawyers to go through each case. Not everyone should be pardoned. Some people just took a tour of the building and were arrested; they should be pardoned or given amnesty. Some people did the damage and fought with the police. For them, I would commute their sentences and let them apply for a full pardon. It was a witch hunt, and it needs to end, but a blanket pardon or amnesty would be easy but could be problematic. Just as important is a Special Counsel to determine the DOJ's part in the J6 demonstrations.

Not everyone should be pardoned.

Everyone should be pardoned. Everyone.

And further, all of their legal expenses should be reimbursed.

Those who were not convicted of violent crimes against persons or property should be paid additional restitution for lost earnings from the time they were arrested until the time they were released. All settlement payments should be exempt from Federal income taxes. A Board of Review must be established to examine each case and set appropriate restitution payments.

Those last bits will require new laws passed by Congress and signed by the President.
