I don’t understand why beef is 2 or 3 times the cost of pork.Pigs and chickens are very efficient at turning food into meat thus production costs are much lower.

An infant pig can be sold at 4 months to be fattened up for slaughter. A cow takes MUCH longer. The same idea behind why some easy to grow and transport veggies are cheaper than fruits.

I don’t understand why beef is 2 or 3 times the cost of pork. Partly the packers, partly the price of grain and partly that pigs are harvested at nine months and beef at about two years.
