President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday nominated veteran and author Pete Hegseth as the Secretary of Defense for his second administration.
Hegseth, who has spent the past eight years as a host on Fox News' "FOX & Friends Weekend," has been a major advocate for veterans and the military. He also served in the Army National Guard, and served in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Just a wild guess....more than 20 generals/admirals are reviewing job options and preparing a resume....leaving by end of January.
Not a problem...but I’d zero-out their security clearance as they leave.
I thought Chris was a good guy.
Then, there is this clip of Chris lauding Mike Pence
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-jxqwTWkuw
Remarks from Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller regarding Mike Pence and their collaboration on “some of the most complex military operations this country has ever conducted”.
Now, I do not know what to believe!
I did NOT want Tulsi as SECDEF.....SHOCKED he picked Pete, but VERY HOPEFUL!!
Would you rather have Lloyd Austin back?
This is a quintessential Trump pick. He’s a fox news host like Trump was just a tv personality. He’s not from the inside or from within government which has them all flustered. They haven’t had a chance to get a guy on the inside of his inner circle yet. They are frantically trying to figure out how to infiltrate and influence.
Gen Flynn for DOGE!!!
Military career
Following graduation from Princeton in 2003, Hegseth joined Bear Stearns as an equity capital markets analyst and was also commissioned as an infantry officer in the Minnesota National Guard.[16] In 2004 his unit was called to Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, where he served as an infantry platoon leader with the Minnesota Army National Guard. His unit was under the operational control of the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment 101st Airborne Division. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal. Shortly after returning from Cuba, Hegseth volunteered to serve in Baghdad and Samarra, whereas Civil–Military Operations Officer. During his time in Iraq, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and a second Army Commendation Medal. He returned to active duty in 2012 as a captain. He deployed to Afghanistan with the Minnesota Army National Guard and acted as a senior counterinsurgency instructor at the Counterinsurgency Training Center in Kabu he held the position of infantry platoon leader and, later in Samarra, as Civil–Military Operations Officer. During his time in Iraq, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and a second Army Commendation Medal.
The necessary Pentagon putsch is on. Leftist concepts of what they regard as “Equity” will be crushed and removed. The neo racist anti American efforts at renaming bases and removing monuments is at an end. Fort Brag and the Moses Ezekiel Reconciliation Monument honoring Confederate fallen will return to Arlington. The left will taste the bitter fruit of demoralization. Parents of southern boys will once again offer their sons to serve in the military. PRIDE RESTORED.
We live in a world where spin and propaganda and the narrative reigns supreme.
Why not pick someone who is an expert in storytelling? We've listened to spin, propaganda, and lies for years. Let's just hope he gets the right message out and not more of the same.
Did I mention that his bio makes him look pretty darn smart?
WINNING, and I ain’ no whars TIHED about it, neithah !
Anybody know if Pete promoted to Lieutenant Colonel before he retired?
Children by your mistress? Oh well, stuff happens.
I doubt it. He was a Major when they basically removed him from the National Guard covering Biden’s Inaugural.
He’s written 6 books, the last on the Enemy Within the Military. The interviews of him on Youtube are excellent. He knows his stuff.
He refused to send in the Guard on January 6th? He was part of the fix. His association with Pence shows he’s another snake in the grass.
The Tattoos bother me also.
“I just hope trump doesn’t gut the VA. It’s finally a great department and takes care of the veterans who are a small percentage of the country’s population. But VA is easy hanging fruit that if destroyed would save on the budget going towards the two trillion he wants to cut.”
What planet are you from? You obviously know NOTHING about Trump and the VA or Trump and our veterans.
Go back to MSNBC or CNN where you work (for now)
Next step for Trump. Fire or ask for the retirement of all Flag Officers currently serving on active duty. Begin the process of promoting select warfighter COLs, LTCs, and Majors into the positions deemed necessary at DoD. These Flag Officers will not support Hegseth. They will mirror the traitor GEN Milley.
Yes, I just found that out.
He resigned after he was taken off the DC Guard detail following Jan 6. Had to do with his support for President Trump.
You better buckle up. You are going to be surprised. Wake up!
