President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday nominated veteran and author Pete Hegseth as the Secretary of Defense for his second administration.

Hegseth, who has spent the past eight years as a host on Fox News' "FOX & Friends Weekend," has been a major advocate for veterans and the military. He also served in the Army National Guard, and served in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

"I am honored to announce that I have nominated Pete Hegseth to serve in my Cabinet as The Secretary of Defense," Trump said in a post to Truth Social. "Pete has spent his entire life as a Warrior for the Troops, and for the Country. Pete is tough, smart and a true believer in America First. With Pete at the helm, America's enemies are on notice - Our Military will be Great Again, and America will Never Back Down."

Another example of Trump's pick.

The number one criteria? Loyalty. No 2? You have to be at least 6 ft tall.

Before anyone starts laughing, start thinking about the dipshits, Trump had in that spot before, who turned out to be disloyal. Writing books, publicly denouncing him etc.

Mark Espar

Christopher Miller

Remember this jerk? He refused to send National Guard to the Capitol on Jan 6th.

Trump talks about the enemy from within the Military will end on Election Day.

The other thing, Trump puts people in positions, that allow them to sink or swim. Pete has his work cut out for him, but who knows, he will grow up real fast.

Pete has written 6 books on the subject.

This says it all.

Trump is really amazing. That’s why I want Scott in there as Majority Leader. He’s another business man, who knows how things work.

I bought his book, The War on Warriors, last night on Audible and spent hours listening to it.

He has a very clear vision of what has to be done...and he is a fighter. Pete is going to clear out the Woke Marxist traitors in the Pentagon and military.

I wonder if the President is going to put out a call to senior officers who left the military out of disgust with current leadership. Might want to put out a call to junior officers and NCOs as well.

Trump's plan to rescue the country and the Constitution is beginning to become clear. The Lefties in DC and all around the country were right to fear a Trump victory. He and his team are going to devastate the efforts of those who have been destroying it.

So glad President Trump didn’t pick Mike Rogers of Alabama. Thank you Mr. President. Pete will be great!

I think Trump has learned his lessons about who can be trusted. He has spent the last 4 years separating the wheat from the chaff.

DC, the government, and the military are about to be purged.

The selection of Pete Hegseth as SECDEF is like sitting the Deep State down with their hands tied behind their back and slapping them silly everyday. Make no mistake that they will try to eliminate Trump, but I just feel that this will lead to the biggest disclosure of government shenanigans. Trump is rocking.

Absolutely right.

There is a rumor floating around that Pentagon generals are huddling in desperate, clandestine meetings about what's coming. I can believe that now more than ever.

The Mark Levin with Pete says it all. Very obvious that Trump picked him

Will be interesting where Tulsi goes.

I wonder where she wants. VA?

I just hope trump doesn’t gut the VA. It’s finally a great department and takes care of the veterans who are a small percentage of the country’s population. But VA is easy hanging fruit that if destroyed would save on the budget going towards the two trillion he wants to cut.

“He has spent the last 4 years separating the wheat from the chaff.”

Yes. They were terrible years for America, but in hindsight it seems they were necessary. There are a lot of quotes about having to hit rock bottom before you can get to the too. Bidenh-Harris-Obama were rock bottom.

Absolutely right. We had to let those on the Left hit rock-bottom. And they did.

There is a rumor floating around that Pentagon generals are huddling in desperate, clandestine meetings about what's coming.

I'm thinking that anyone at the top who is engaged in such behavior will be noted and will be among the first to be shown the door, with security clearance revoked. In my opinion, a BIG percentage of "top men" need to be axed.

Yep. Right now, there are many Pentagon generals who are drinking during the day and losing sleep at night.

And since the Hegseth announcement yesterday, they are probably doing their drinking in meetings.;-)

Anytime a democrat or democrats and the democrats’ lamestream media oppose a nomination by President Trump or attempt to discredit President Trump’s nominee, all Americans will know the proper choice was made.
