For years, reforming the Constitution has been a misguided conservative issue. Downplaying the danger of a runaway convention, impatient conservatives have campaigned to ask the states to call a Constitutional Convention (Con-Con) to consider reforms and amendments that might address their many legitimate concerns.
Now, leftists are appearing on the reform horizon, calling for major constitutional changes.
One impatient leftist is Prof. Erwin Chemirinsky, dean of the Law School at the University of California, Berkeley. His new book, No Democracy Lasts Forever: How the Constitution Threatens the United States, goes beyond reform and calls for scrapping the Constitution altogether. He thinks the document has outlived its usefulness.
The leftist shift against the American Constitution is surprising. Liberals have long used (and abused) the Constitution to their benefit.
They proclaimed it a “living” document that conveniently changes with the times and liberal demands. By finding pockets of penumbra inside the document, liberal Supreme Court justices have legislated from the bench, striking down traditions and conservative initiatives. Democrats have long accepted the results of the Constitution’s Electoral College for decades without problems.
Over the years, people have complained about certain parts of the Constitution. Some have tried to amend it. However, few on the Left or Right have ever said it threatens the United States.
Chemerinsky does, and goes one woke step further. Changing the narrative drastically, he says the Constitution was flawed from the beginning -- the product of a group of white slaveowners. Its anti-democratic elements cannot be reformed while population and political shifts are making these flaws increasingly worse, contributing “greatly to the crisis of American democracy.”

They don’t realize it also stops us (some anyway) from being bullies.
A: Because the left wants to scrap western civilization.

Let’s see. Because they want to convert the US Constitutional Republic into a Democracy and the 15 to 20 blue states will determine all future elections and the red states need not even bother to vote.
They want to scrap it so it will be easier for them to gain control and fill their pockets faster without restriction.

Not a lawyer, but this is just so stupid. The first people the communists, the Nazis, and the like killed were lawyers who were standing in their way.
The really good lawyers on our side are awesome. And necessary in a nation of laws. And stand up to abusive government .

The Constitution has been amended 27 times, and through the judicial interpretation of cases like Brown v. Board of Education, the document has been made more adaptable to changing societal norms.

In this expression, the Creator residing beyond infinity reaches into our world from eternity to endow individuals with inestimable value despite the human condition, and therefore reminds those holding governing positions of their central duty to individuals and the paradox of their own fallibility.

If the Constitution is scrapped what would their replacement look like? The immediate casualties would be First and Second Amendments. Only government approved speech would be allowed. None of that “disinformation”. Freedom of religion can’t be tolerated either as some religions have beliefs that are against abortion, transgenderism and the worship of the almighty state. Freedom of assembly and to redress grievances against the government…sure can’t have that. Of course no citizen should be armed only the government and its agents should have firearms. We have already seen the Fourth and Fifth Amendments trampled with government goons breaking down doors without warrants, government agents seizing property under administrative rules, and open lawfare against anyone who dissents. The ideal state in a post Constitutional world would resemble any other tyrannical state.

The other side of the coin sees the leftists and plutocrats lined up along open trenches and shot. That happened in Libya in 2011 and is the most recent example.

They want to vaporize the 1st and 2nd Amendments. Then they will be able to bulldoze the remainder of The U.S. Constitution and then take over EVERYTHING.
