Many have forgotten, and their children will repeat it.

I listen to this every year

Beautiful. OUR OWN COUNTRY NEEDS MORE NATIONAL DAYS AND MOMENTS LIKE THESE!

NOT TO MENTION WE NEED TO TAKE BETTER CARE OF OUR VETERANS.

Princess Catherine looks amazing as always.

No human undertaking was ever so toxic and wasteful as the First World War.

It didn't end—it just went into half-time until they could get World War Two going.

Most British citizens take honoring their War dead, far more seriously than most Americans. If store merchants cannot think of how to use that date to sell retail items at a discount, they don’t usually bring it up at all. Meaning, there is not much to remind us of the day’s significance.

When I was young, everyone wore a red poppy on 11/11. The VFW used to give them out for a donation.

I haven't seen anyone wear a red poppy in a long time.

Christians killing Christians for the last 1700 years. No wonder Islam is the world’s fastest growing religion. Globalism is Satanic

In Flanders Fields

By John McCrae

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Written by Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae, a Canadian physician, on May 3, 1915, after presiding over the funeral of a friend and fellow soldier killed in the Second Battle of Ypres. It was published in December 1915, in 'Punch' magazine. On January 28, 2918 McCrae died of pneumonia with "extensive pneumococcus meningitis".

It is read every year at Canadian Remembrance Day Services, and led to the wearing of a poppy, as a form of remembrance in Commonwealth, and most European countries. It was supposed to be the 'war to end all wars'. (It was, at least until the next one.)

Not too many of those WWII vets left. The youngest would be around 97 years old.
