During the afternoon of Sunday, at 1:49 p.m. in Chile, a strong earthquake of magnitude 6.8 was registered near the municipality of Bartolomé Masó, in the province of Granma, Cuba.
According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), its epicenter was about 40 kilometers south of Bartolomé Masó at a depth of only 12.8 km.
Around 12.50 a magnitude 5.9 tremor was felt, with only 14 km deep.
