RIP Neil Peart.

His drumming on this album is exceptional (as is the bass and lead guitar, as usual).

Interesting. If I remember, the album is about censorship and oppression, but the ancients come and save the day. Guess I have to go listen to it again. Thanks for posting.

Such a great album.

Rush was one of those bands that I got into a little later in life. Especially the older stuff. I had to grow to appreciate it.

One of these days I'd like to tackle some of their late-career albums.

Anyhow, my all time favorite Rush song was the one where they went, "Let's make a song that sounds like The Police! They're really big right now!"

Rush - Vital Signs - Live in Cleveland

And by all means, please stick around for Peart's drumming near the end.

I saw them perform the entire album live back in the day.

Awesome performances.

“Our computers fill the hallowed halls” if I remember right. The priest controlled what everyone thought and said.

Pert wrote that in 1976.

I had the fortune of getting a picture autographed during the Permanent Waves tour. That entire album is awesome.
Peart is by far the best drummer I’ve seen in concert. Rip

2112 was a great album as were permanent waves and hemispheres

I was lucky enough to see them do some of those live, back when talent was king way before there were all the electronics and lip syncing bands use today.

but this album from Queensryche is just as good

The priests of the Temple of Syrinx are definitely democrats.

The song is basically a rock adaptation of Ayn Rand’s novel “Anthem”. Although there, the protagonist rediscovers electricity rather than music/guitar.
