I don’t think they have time...nomination...Senate Judiciary committee...
That’s what I’m wondering about. What kind of time frame does it take? I’m sure the Democrats are willing to cut corners. According to Wikipedia, the average time is 55 days. They’ll all be out of town for part of November and December/January. Not seeing how they’d get through the Judiciary Committee, the interviews with 50 people and then the vote. If they can fast-track that, why didn’t they fast-track a better presidential candidate?
There probably is time. Ruth Ginsberg died Sept 18 2020; Barrett was confirmed 5-6 weeks later.
If Manchin and Sinema are against the idea, it fails.
