SBA Statement on Montana CI-128 (Abortion) Vote

HELENA, Mont. – SBA Pro-Life America released the following statement in response to the passage of CI-128 in Montana.

“We mourn the loss of lives and freedom in Montana with the passage of pro-abortion amendment CI-128,” said SBA Pro-Life America Western Regional Director Adam Schwend. “The abortion industry was able to run a deceptive campaign devoid of the truth by outspending the prolife side by an 83:1 ratio. The abortion lobby bought this election, tricking Montanans to put all-trimester abortion paid for by the taxpayer in the constitution by using their cash advantage to spread lies and fear.

“We’re thankful for the bold voices and tireless efforts of SBA’s field team in Montana. They labored in love to save their state from this terrible outcome, spending countless hours sharing the truth about the abortion industry’s radical amendment. Our hearts go out to the babies, women and parents in Montana whose rights have been stripped away by this radical measure.”

All this time I thought Montana was conservative too. This really shocks me.

Must be a lot of dim-bulbs in Montana.

I am glad that Trump carried Montana and that the Senate seat was flipped to the GOP. However, there is a high degree of moral rot in this country, as the abortion measure passed despite Trump winning the state by a big margin.

I figured the fact Trump carried Montana was good and that this might fail.

Really I’m shocked this passed.

IN Arizona, the amount of money spent pushing abortion this election was mind-boggling. As was the dishonesty of the ads.

Did you know a woman with a miscarriage in Arizona can be arrested and put in jail for an attempted abortion? Isn’t true, but I’ve seen a bunch of ads CLAIMING it is true...

Along with the claim that Arizona has banned all abortions of any kind. Not remotely true, but...thousands of ads. Didn’t see ONE telling the truth!

What the government gives the government can take away again. Nothing is forever.

No

What we the people give, we the people can take away.

Never forget that

Well, yes of course you are correct! My meaning was that it’s not an unalienable right. If it was “granted” to you it can just as easily reversed again. See prohibition.

Queue my canned statement:
“Abortion and infanticide has been around before we were born, it will be here after we are dead. Personally/morally, its abhorrent people willingly remove their offspring from this earth. Politically, I don’t want the government in my life anymore than necessary (which is becoming very minimal as I age).”

Montana is rather libertarian overall. The dems did an excellent job convincing people that abortion was make or break with this amendment (doesn’t change anything due to the liberal leaning state supreme court).

Overall, that political push is done for next cycle. There are more important issues than legislating morality you can’t control; neighboring states offer way more unrestricted abortion.

Gotta change hearts to end the practice.

Same thing in Missouri. Passed and is now in Missouri Constitution. Simple majority where Florida required 60 percent.
