SBA Responds to Missouri Amendment 3 (Abortion) Vote

Jefferson City, Mo. – SBA Pro-Life America this evening released the following statement in response to the passage of Amendment 3 in Missouri.

“We mourn the lives that will be lost under Amendment 3,” said SBA Pro-Life Director of State Affairs Sue Liebel. “Missouri is now far less free with a late-term abortion amendment in the constitution that will enable the ACLU and abortion industry to strip Missourians of parental consent and force them to pay for abortions. The disappointing results are a reminder that human rights battles are not won overnight. Throughout history, great injustices have taken time and persistence to rectify. We must persevere in working to undo the abortion industry’s 50-year political monopoly and the deeply rooted lies abortion activists have sown to legitimize taking the lives of more than 60 million babies in the womb.

“We’re thankful for the bold voices and tireless efforts of pro-life advocates in Missouri. Their dedication to serving Missouri women and saving children was on full display. They labored in love to save their state from this terrible outcome, spending countless hours sharing the truth about the ACLU’s radical amendment. Our hearts go out to the babies, women and parents in Missouri whose rights have been stripped away by this radical measure.”

It would sour higher if babies were born and baby companies were doing good sales.

I’m in Missouri, too, and many of us truly did work hard to defeat this. It just wasn’t enough to overcome the barrage of lies and dark money coming into the state, and the fear-mongering.

There is a petition out to overturn the amendment, but the language in it concerns me.

There was fear among younger mothers who have experienced miscarriage that their care for a miscarrying mother would be compromised if this amendment did not pass. I didn't like the language and fear that it enables children to enter gender reassignment programs on their own.

Why is it that social issue legislation--which always has to be in the form of a vague amendment with no attached regulations--always peaks just in time for a Presidential election? Lotteries, casinos, stem cell, gay marriage, pot, and the next one will probably be funding trans surgeries or euthanasia. This is getting very, very old.

Thoroughly disappointed in my home state. Of course we’ve all been hearing about how 25% of Christians don’t vote so who’s to blame here? Can Christians blame it on Dems, women, society or the devil if they refuse to participate?

MAGA: Make Americans Good Again.

Because a population which is not virtuous will never make a great nation.

It should require a supermajority to be put into the Constituion. Federal Amendments require 38 states.
