Californians reportedly preparing to flee country pending election results

A new report highlighted a growing number of Americans, and particularly Californians, who are planning to move overseas because they are “fed up” with the divisiveness of US politics.

The Los Angeles Times spoke to global migration experts who’ve documented a spike in the number of Americans seeking to move out of the country since 2020, with many of them being California residents.

The number of requests this election year has already exceeded last year, global firm Henley & Partners said. The consultant company helps clients obtain residency and citizenship in other countries and said that about 80% of their US clients want to leave the country because of political issues.

“They want an option to escape,” Basil Mohr Elzeki, who leads the North American operations for Henley & Partners, told the LA Times. “Now with the election, people have opinions on both ends, and they’re worried.”

Jen Barnett, founder of Expatsi, another company that helps US citizens looking to move abroad, said her website’s traffic spiked 900% after the first presidential debate between President Biden and former President Donald Trump. She said traffic climbed again in the final weeks of the 2024 race.

Barnett and her husband moved to Mexico earlier this year after spending years looking for somewhere outside the US to live following Trump winning the 2016 Republican nomination.

This is just too good! They're actually doing it! Beverly Hills will be peppered with "for sale" signs. Motivated sellers will take a loss. Time for the real Clampetts to move into the primo neighborhoods.

Where are Californians gonna go?

Mexico?
Where crime is worse than California, where (ironically) non-citizens have almost zero rights or benefits, and where economy is worse than what Biden has done to ours?

Who actually believes they will leave other than a small handful?

Better they flee the country than pollute another state with their messed up politics.

Well I am moving myself next year. I am retiring to the Philippines hopefully and will be done with democrat whining and trying to destroy America.

But I bet these whiners never go.

Got a lot of refugees from blue states over the last almost 4 years in my state......honestly a lot of us here were worried they would bring their idiotic lib beliefs with them and blue up the state.

After how strong the turn out was for DJT yesterday, it looks like they were in fact moving here to be in a state free of draconian politicians......a big relief that was.....Now if they could just learn to drive. 😏

Did I miss it, or did the article give lots of percentages of change, but never get around to citing an actual quantity of these aspiring emigrants? The omission makes me suspect hype-ful thinking. But we can hope.

Instead of staying and fixing the problems they helped create, like cowards, they run and hide.
I hope their visas and passports are noted no return.

Suits me. It keeps them from moving to red states and turning them purple/blue.

Doesn’t matter where you go. What happens in America touches everyone everywhere. I learned that by experience. But now that the Dems can do nothing but whine, have an occasional riot, and destroy divers localities with bad government, it’s the ideal time to leave. I’m still kicking myself for not voting in 2012, not that it would have made any difference. Vote absentee at every election.
