I had a friend who was killed by someone who did the same thing.
A jet shi owner is a person lacking the means to buy a boat
O man, that’s sad. Terrible.
Not really. I know people who have a boat, two jet skis, and two kayaks. They just love being on the water in different ways.
We have plenty of these clowns here in central Florida who display no regard for laws or etiquette...akin to biker gang mentality.
We refer to them as lake roaches and water lice.
Not true. many jet ski’s are anywhere from 10-20 K.
I saw the same thing out the window of our power plant a few years back. A fisherman in a boat harassed by jet skiers. It is a private company owned lake which allowed public fishing.
Multiple arrests. No mention of convictions. This should be his last event, ever.
He was a Sheriffs deputy off duty with his kids. He jumped in front of an idiot on a jetski who was was purposely aiming right at a whole bunch of kids to hit them including his own swimming in the same spot. He saved the kids but lost his life in doing so.
Meh, I have both -and a kayak. It’s how I relax for less than $200

We see them at our lake place, in the TX Hill Country, too.
We call them lake rats.
I had a cottage on a lake many years ago.
The jet skiers are the worst craft on the water, usually operated by no nothing nincompoops who will endanger others at the drop of a hat.
Oh, the stories I can tell.........
Nassau County.....it figures 😏
Yeah we call them “Citiots”. They come in from LA and destroy everything they can. The worst violation is the broken bottles everywhere. They don’t appreciate one thing let alone our rivers and lakes.
What a proper jackass
I imagine a few nice people slip by, but before riding a jet ski, you have to prove that you are a self-centered arse-hole who demands everyone else get out of his/her way and tolerate their wake waves and 180 decibels of joy. A relative used to operate one, and would rant about moron kayakers and fishermen ruining jet-skiers’ fun by quietly using public waterways.
I hope Philip Bunch has to pay the victim big bucks.
When I was a teenager I used to go fishing at strip mines in flyover country. People trashed the place so the company halted all fishing for a year or so. The company eventually issued permits to gain access.
I had a jet skier do this to me when I was fishing off my dock on a lake in Texas in the 1980s. I expertly cast a big old crankbait, with three big treble hooks, into his arm and pulled him off the jet ski.
He didn’t do that to me again.
Unfortunately the guy in the kayak was unable to respond that way.
And boats cost 40k-60k.
