I still look forward to having a viewing 'assignment'. This Suchet recording is my favorite, as it records Suchet live, reading the Gospel of St. John in Westminster Abbey, England. I found his reading so engaging, I felt like I was listening to someone who was there when events unfolded. :D
I created this thread to store any observations or comments made by those of us listening David Suchet's narration of the Bible, we will have one thread for each book starting with the New Testament. I've provided a suggested listening/commenting window of one week (see dates in title of thread).
This week's book is available in a few different formats. I linked this thread to Bible Gateway's convenient hub offering David Suchet and many others providing audio readings of the books of the bible.
Here is the YOUTUBE link for the Gospel of Luke.
The Gospel according to St John, read by Sir David Suchet
I'll put optional links below in case anyone is looking for additional resources, along with a link to book club ideas for people reading/listening through the book of Mark.

Here are a few links for those seeking additional sources for listening.
Those listening to David Suchet readings may want to use the list at the bottom of the (linked) page which maps each of Suchet's readings to the books/chapters of the bible covered in each reading.

Here is the link in google to James Earl Jones' readings (YOUTUBE). I note that JEJ's collected readings are also available through Audible and on CD.

Bible Gateway: I discovered that Bible Gateway has many spoken translations, including David Suchet's. I am pleased it automatically continued to the next verse without my intervention.

Sidenote:I didn't realize that the book of Mark was also recorded live! I do find it lovely to watch him as he reads. As I said, it makes me feel like I'm hearing from someone who was present in the time of Christ.
PING
I like his reading too :)!!!

Chronicles is a recap of Kings less details of the Northern Kingdom from about 950 to about 550. The parallels of the rise and fall of Israel to the US exist. This caught my eye today. 1 Chronicles 7:14
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
God is patient and merciful but not forever.
We are having a good rain tonight. It will relieve the drought. Pastures have greened a bit and we can put off hay feeding until the first frost or freeze. I am so very grateful.
This link turns utubesinto audio tapes for phones. I have no interest in watching but love listening.
Just downloaded both to my phone
