Great start to November.

It’s been GORGEOUS out.

We’re getting trees harvested for firewood and today is going to be a massive garden clean up.

The nice weather is supposed to continue for a while, which is GREAT for our fuel bills.

Don’t need to use oil or firewood.

Hello.

We are finally getting cooler weather in So Cal and it is such a relief! Possibly even rain today. Summer flowers are making their last hurrah.

This very odd succulent decided to bloom - smells terrible. Planted so long ago I've forgotten its name - attracted a lot of flies!

We made it home in one piece from Sunny Florida. We got to see three sessions of Blue Angels practice flights, one session of Thunderbirds practice, and a Super Delta Beach Buzz - Angels and T-Birds in a 12 plane delta formation low and slow over the beach. It was worth the ~2.5 hours wait on the fishing pier with all of the other patriots to experience that. There is video on youtube for those who would like to see it.

From what I hear it was bone dry in Misery until we got back in the wee hours last Thursday morning. We got 1.3" of rainfall from that little squall. It's rained more here since then, but I took the gauge down before I started demolition on the old hoop house so I'm not sure how much we've had since then.

I've been chore boy pretty much non-stop since we got back. New garden patch is 90% cleaned up. 5 of 6 panels have been installed on the frame for the new hoop house. Tomato cages and cucumber fence are down. Soaker hoses picked up. Old hoop house is down and most of the mess from that has been cleaned up. Garlic is starting to sprout. We're back on Standard Time so progress on outdoor work will slow down now due to lack of light in the evenings.

I’m confused by the “in memorium” part of this ongoing thread.....I don’t recall if Diana is/was also greeneyes or if greeneyes was a separate individual.....I was absent from FR for about a year and I’m trying to get caught up.

Who passed away?

My tomatoes got whacked beleaguered footed beetles this year.

Mynstutal pesticide ( wTer, veg oil, baking powder) which usually kills everything may add well been mouthwash for them.

I don’t like putting spinosad etc on my plants.

I prefer something that isn’t a lab created chemical.

Any of you have suggestions or ideas?
