Long Island hero, 48, drowns trying to save woman, son, 10, while on family vacation in Bermuda

A Long Island man drowned while trying to rescue a woman and her child from the ocean during a family vacation to Bermuda.
Jamie Labros, 48, died on Oct. 7 while trying to help the woman and her 10-year-old son at Horseshoe Bay Beach, according to the obituary released by his family. The mom and son survived, but hero Lambros did not.
The Deer Park resident was on a cruise with 11 relatives when tragedy struck, his family said.
