On the issue of the achievement itself, I googled the question "Is trig based on the Pythagorean Theorem?" and now I'm thinking that the Pythagorean theorem is probably integral to trig.
In the real world, there's not such thing as a perfect triangle or perfectly straight line anyway. So all of geometry is a construct of the human mind. And yet, how extremely useful it is as a fundamental of science, engineering, etc!
So let the metaphysicians have fun arguing about this further. LOL!
Pi are not round, Pi r square.
Old dad joke —— “No, cornbread are square; pi are round”!
Nice job! Thanks Red Badger.
And using Trig, give ‘em a standing O!
The message I got is that this St. Mary’s school in New Orleans
is producing terrific results. And a Catholic school to boot!
I was shocked at how secular 60 minutes strongly emphasized the Catholic angle.
Centering on the religious bgrnd that made the girls’ stunning math accomplishment possible.
I put a /s at the end of my post to indicate my post was sarcastic but they deleted & removed my post anyway. I guess I went too far with my fake "hostility." My bad. Sorry.
Interesting but thank you I read it before was deleted anyway.
