Heart-stopping video captures NYC subway surfing, as tragic trend claims another teen victim: ‘They do it every day’

Frightening video shows a person running on top of a moving train at the same Queens station where a teenage girl died and her young friend was critically injured while subway surfing over the weekend.

A heart-pounding clip taken Thursday by a concerned New Yorker near the 111th Street station in Corona shows someone precariously jogging along the top of an elevated subway car.

A second clip from April shows at least five youngsters atop another subway car in the same corridor along Roosevelt Avenue.

Yep.

I would never have the cubs wear knee or elbow pads because bruises and scraps are natures way of saying "Don't do that Stupid!" It was the reason they had us watch those "Red Asphalt" movies. The first three, the ones after that went soft.

When we were kids we would do some stupid stuff but there usually was one of two things that stopped us from taking it too far. One was the wrath of mom or dad who would say, “that's enough bud”. At which point you stopped or there were consequences. The other was that one wet blanket friend that would tell you that you shouldn't do it. They told you that because they were your friend and you listened for the same reason. And if you didn't, they were the one who went for help.

Kids don't have friends like that any more.

They have "media friends" people who do not give a damn if they break their heads open. In fact people who want to see it because it gives them some kind of thrill.

There was a minor Gene Hackman movie called Narrow Margin in 1990. Confined on a train with killers searching for them and others waiting at stops, Hackman and Ann Archer ended up trying to escape riding on the roof of the moving train and moving from car to car as the killers closed in.

In the background featurette they said the director insisted on the two stars doing the stunts for real and had someone teach them techniques. Anne Archer said she was afraid for most scenes but then got used to it.

A preposterous gamble that could have lost a great actor and a beautiful woman.
