I didn’t catch the name of the astronaut who is being detained in the hospital. Was it the Russian?

I’m guessing that you’ve never had to depend on the base doctor? Only about half my life - from infancy to my 40s as a dependent and on active duty. I'm now approaching old age, but I have to say I think the care declined noticeably along the way.

My experience with military hospitals is rather mixed, they nearly killed me as I was being born. Mom's chart clearly said 'C-SECTION ONLY!' in big bold letters on the folder. When she finally managed to squeeze me out I came out blue and non-responsive. The managed to get me started after an hour and returned me to my mom, with the admonition that 'they saved me and if any goes wrong from here, it's your fault!' And that chart? Vanished.
On the other hand when I had my appendix removed (10 years old?) I had an amazing surgeon. He did what was then called keyhole surgery, I was on my feet right after the anesthesia wore off. I've had doctors examine my belly and not notice the scar.
Speaking of vanished charts, the dispensary at El Torro lost my medical records. Thirteen visits IN A ROW!!!
There are a number of military installations in the area, so it is curious they were taken to a civilian hospital.
Some procedure the military hospitals don't offer?
