"A smile relieves a heart that grieves ..."
I'd also point out that I have refrained from posting official music videos of these songs as I've worked through this list. I made an exception here because the video itself has an interesting story behind it. The location where the first part of the video was filmed is the same pair of buildings at 96-98 St. Marks Place in the East Village of New York City that can be found on the cover of the 1975 Led Zeppelin album, Physical Graffiti.
Let me know if you'd like to be added or removed from the ping list!
IIRC Waiting On A Friend was recorded during the “Exile” sessions.
Great tune!
Please add me to the ping list.
I’m probably on board with 50% of what you picked with maybe another 30% just being the same artist but a different song. For example I would go with Rush’s Subdivisions over Time Stand still.
Thanks.
I saw Zep right about the time of this album-—the black “Icarus” t-shirt, which I had until the 1990s.
They. Were. Terrible. Plant couldn’t hit any high notes, Page was so drunk he couldn’t even cross his legs when he sat down. Bonham & Jones just a dull roar.
My singer, at the time, went as well and I didn’t know he was there. Later we touched base. He said the same thing. Worst concert he ever saw.
I swung by the Lakeland Civic Center Ticket Office and they said they did not know either. The tickets said "The Great Southeast Stoned Out Wrestling Champions". I bought tickets anyway and it did turn out to be them. It was the first date for their "Some Girls" tour in 1978 and they intentionally only authorized about 1/3 capacity total tickets sold. No one knew for sure if it would be them until they came out on stage. It was so uncrowded you could go to the concession stand and then just walk right up to the stage.
This was before "Waiting for a Friend" was recorded.

Good trivia about the video for this song being filmed at the same buildings featured on the album cover of "Physical Graffitti" by Led Zeppelin. I remember seeing the video but never made the connection. Next time I'm in that part of NYC, I will seek out that location.
Now my #12 song has a Christmas feel to it. It is the much overlooked "Miss Sarejevo" by U2 and opera singer Pavarotti from the 1995 Passengers album, which was an experimental album produced by Eno of "imaginary soundtracks". Not a true U2 album but just a side project by them.
Anyway, I know that there are a lot of U2 haters here but I urge them to give this a listen. When Pavarotti comes in towards the end of this song, it transports you to another world entirely. It is a really good song to play around Christmas time as for me, it evokes a very Christmasy atmosphere.

I missed a few of your earlier posts but here is my countdown synced up with yours. I think the both of us have very similar tastes in music yet I've discovered some good stuff from your list.
First Zeppelin concert I went to was the Physical Graffiti tour at MSG. To date, the best concert I ever attended. In second place is Pink Floyd’s Animals tour. They did the entire Animals album, took a short break, then did the entire Wish you were here album, and for their encore did the first side of Dark Side of the Moon.
Doesn’t get much better than that.
