University of South Florida men’s basketball coach Amir Abdur-Rahim has died at 43 years old due to an undisclosed illness.
The school said Abdur-Rahim died while suffering complications during a medical procedure at a Tampa-area hospital.
“We are heartbroken over the passing of Coach Abdur-Rahim,” the school wrote on X. “A tremendous man & leader with an infectious personality that was a shining light to all he encountered. Our thoughts & prayers are with his family, friends and everyone that he left a lasting impact on.” Abdur-Rahim was entering his second season as head coach of USF after leading the team to the AAC regular season championship last year.

RIP, coach.
Tragic, really. May he Rest in Peace Peace.
We have to ask how many MRNA shots he had. My beloved son-in-law, head of the local sheriff’s department, died at 64. Like this man, he was a strong, healthy man.
We always have to ask how many clot shots they had. Fred had one, and his wife, my daughter, questions whether that caused his death.
RIP. He was a major reason USF has been obtaining a reputation in college sports.
(FD: I have 12 grad credits from USF, from the late 80s to provide cert for courses my comcol wanted me to teach. It’s a better-than-average school, woke now but not particularly communist.)
An illness followed by a medical procedure.
Universities required the clot shot.
One of my packaging professors was middle aged but very healthy.
A month or two later he was hiking with his wife in the Ozarks and had a massive heart attack, dying on the side of the trail.
That is too young.
Good riddance.
