Most of the well-known stars have Arabic names............
Incidentally — speaking of constellations -— it’s very odd that the middle star of the five that comprise Cassiopeia, has no name.
In modern times they’ve tried to give it one; it doesn’t seem to have caught on. The Chinese call it Tsih, the whip, though their constellation is different (they don’t see it as the M or W we recognize).
You would think an bright star in a well-known constellation would surely have a name, Arabic, Babylonian, Latin, something. But gamma cas never got a name!
It’s always bothered me.
