North Korea has sent 3,000 troops to Russia to support its war against Ukraine, South Korean lawmakers said on Wednesday after being briefed by the national intelligence agency, an estimate that is twice the previous figure.
Pyongyang had promised to provide a total of about 10,000 troops, whose deployment was expected to be completed by December, the lawmakers told journalists.
The latest numbers came after Seoul's National Intelligence Service said on Friday the North had sent some 1,500 special forces to Russia by ship.
"Signs of troops being trained inside North Korea were detected in September and October," Park Sun-won, a member of a parliamentary intelligence committee, said after the briefing.
"It appears that the troops have now been dispersed to multiple training facilities in Russia and are adapting to the local environment."

Lot of different numbers talked about. Russia at times, has suggested 20,000. South Korean news said 12,000 last week. I personally doubt it goes past 5,000.
I do agree...within 100 days of arrival...majority will be dead. None will ever live to return to North Korea.

The Russians will have to babysit them until they learn how to fight with actual combat experience.
My bet they are mostly construction people.Making a big deal to get USA to send in Troops to match them. Another bid to start WW III before Biden Leaves office—to use it as a prop to get Harris in the White House. If America is at war with Russia, who will protest the Big Steal? Trump people will rally to the flag and after some Terrorist act all will tow the line to win the war over evil Hitler-Putin and his lackey Trump.

The end is nearing, quite possible China and North Korea will be used to rebuild whats left of Ukraine. The Ukies have very little manpower to rebuild.
North Koreans find the Russian recipe for cabbage to be too bland.

Many non western sources state they are Engineers, construction units. Most likely to rebuild Vlad’s liberated territories.
When the war ends, I fully expect to see the Chinese contracts signed to rebuild what is left of Ukraine, both western Ukraine and Nuevo Russia.
