A woman who tried to retrieve her lost phone from between boulders in Australia’s Hunter Valley became stuck upside down for seven hours before she was rescued earlier this month.

Just the bare soles of the woman’s feet can be seen in photos of the incident posted on social media Monday by the New South Wales (NSW) Ambulance service.

The woman had been walking with friends on a private property in Laguna, a country town in the Hunter Valley about 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Sydney, when she dropped her phone....

When Watts and others arrived, all they could see were the woman’s feet between a 10-centimeter (4-inch) gap in the rocks.

“As she’s crawled into this little hole, she slipped and slid about three meters down a chute and got stuck,” Watts said.... “The chute that she slid down didn’t go straight down, so we couldn’t pull her straight up,” Watts said....She had to form an ‘S’ shape, with her legs to one side, then the other....

Seriously, I'm cringing because I HATE being trapped in tight places - I'm glad she survived

In this case down her bloomers. That’s one heck of wedgie.

I went spelunking ONCE. It was supposed to be an easy rated tourist cave to get through. I was on my stomach barely able to pull myself through with my fingers. It was all I could do to tamp down my fear and not panic.

I’ve never gone underground since. It was horrific.

She’s lucky. Some years ago a hiker in Utah, I think, got somehow got an arm wedged between borders and after almost a week without any help, he cut off his own arm to free himself.

My mother once visited Egypt for a Nile cruise (which she greatly enjoyed and wasn’t killed by terrorists) and went into one the pyramids along the way.

Walk half bent over through a narrow tunnel in a throng of sweaty people with no way to turn back for half an hour, only to arrive at a wholly empty grave chamber. And then back.

Yeah, she regretted that.

So...she wasn’t eaten be the giant spiders that live down there and only her feet and ankles were recovered? Lucky lady!

If you get a chance, there’s a movie called ‘The Last Descent” about a student doctor who got trapped in a Utah cave, where his body remains. He was also trapped head first.
