It was in a dry place and the mold was in new sealed boxes of lids.

Well, you certainly wouldn’t want to use these to can your veggies. We canned quite a number of things this summer, tomatoes and salsa, pickles, green beans plus a bunch of frozen corn.

If your storage wasn’t the issue, I’d contact the company. Maybe it was stored improperly in a warehouse on it’s way to the store where you bought it? Maybe it floated around in the ocean on a barge since CovidBS-19? (No, Ball Brand is made in AMERICA - where EVERYTHING SHOULD BE MADE!)

Ball is now owned by Newel Brands and manufactured by Rubbermaid. 1-800-240-3340

Call them and let them know. Have the bar code numbers handy of the boxes you purchased. There are probably others out there.

I bought three of the same product just yesterday. 2 boxes of wide-mouth and one regular. I have enough canning rings to circle the Moon and back, but I always pick up lids when I see them on sale.

My boxes are all fine - I just looked, so THANKS! :)
