I understand what you're saying about the tail giving the cat it's character. π
I actually own a Manx cat and his stumpy little tail shows plenty of character, just on a shorter version. LOL!
Around 6 years ago, he showed up at our house and decided to stay.
I had no clue, he's a Manx until I took him to the Vet. The Vet suspected it and did genetic testing.
He is very different from any other cat. He does have this almost doglike behavior.
He's good-tempered, friendly, affectionate and even loyal.
Unlike my other cats, he has never fantasized or plotted to kill me. ( I think π€ )
