Two spectators at a San Francisco Fleet Week air show suffered minor injuries when a Navy parachutist landed on them in the early afternoon on Sunday in an accident.
The two spectators, a woman and a child, were then taken to the hospital.

One wonders if the DEI Navy was involved.
“One wonders if the DEI Navy was involved.”
My first thought, too. Never heard of that happening before.
My second thought was Lizzo enlisted in the Navy. Of course, they would have taken the woman and child to the morgue if that were the case.
LOL!
I suspect an unexpected eddy, maybe even a dust devil, threw the parachute and man into the spectators. Early afternoon is a pretty good time for unexpected eddies.
Gravity gust most likely.
It’s true, ... San Fagsisco Blows...
Fleet Week in San Francisco is on the Marina Green right on the north waterfront. The Blue Angels show on Saturday was cancelled due to fog. Maybe weather.
That could have had a far more serious outcome.
Most in the Bay Area live it when the Blue Angels come to town, but there has always been a small group looking for any reason to stop this from happening. Mostly pacifists and down with the flag crabapples.
One can only imagine the Ambulance chasers lining up for the Gov. deep pockets payday.
Live it = Love it
that blows...
Also local seismographs would have recorded the “landing”.
I'm not sure you should use the word "small"...
As Iām hooking up my gear, a great commotion occurs: barely seconds after his chute is released from the tower, the wind shifted and blew him into the tower.
My reaction? WTF am I doing here? Alls well that ends well. We survived and pinned on our wings two weeks laterā¦November 1976.
Many years ago I was Navy recruiter. The Senior Bowl in Mobile, Al. had as its theme the whatever anniversary of Naval Aviation. I was peripherally involved manning a recruiting RV outside the stadium. The weather was terrible with high and gusting winds. Here’s how it went: the local newspaper reported that the Blue Angels were going to do an airshow over the stadium. Really. Two jets did a one time flyby of the stadium. The Navy’ parachute team got caught in the wind and landed all over the city, except in the stadium where they were supposed to land. One suffered a broken leg.
The Navy hot air balloon attempted to inflate and lift off from inside the stadium during half time. Winds were too high and it was cancelled while trying to inflate. Overall, it was very impressive.
I had a brush with blowing into the tower.
Things tend to be sucked toward the Haight-Ashbury.
I believe you have figured it out.
LTjg was heard shouting “GET OUTTA MY WAY LIBTARDS!” as he made his approach.
