Kamala The Tax Cutter? I&I/TIPP Poll Finds Trump Losing The Messaging Battle With Harris
Issues and Insights ^ | October 8, 2024 | I & I Editorial Board

Our latest poll, taken of 997 likely voters, finds that more voters say they trust Harris (who’s already announced $4 trillion in tax hikes) than Trump to cut taxes by a 48%-45% margin. Among the crucial independent voters, the margin is even greater – 49% to 36%.

More trust Harris to bring about energy independence, 48%-47%.

Trump is essentially tied with Harris on growing the economy (49%-48%), but he’s far behind with independents on this critical issue, with half saying they trust Harris to grow the economy and just 42% trusting Trump.

I don't know what to make of this. How can any sane person actually think Kamala Harris will cut taxes? How can any sane person think Harris will do more to cut taxes than Trump? How are people this stupid deciding elections?

Some of this is due to the MSM's relentless propaganda on behalf of the Democrats. But some of this is just due to the fact that a large segment of the voting public - especially the segment calling themselves independents - are unbelievably stupid. I don't know how we can sway these people, but ignoring them is not an option.

Is this the same “polling” group that had Trump ahead of Harris in six of eight issues, barely behind in the other two issues, yet had Harris up something like 16% with independents over Trump?

I have never heard of “Issues and Insights/TIPP” polling. I do not know if the methodology is valid.

The Fraternal Order of Police supported Bill Clinton over Robert Dole in ‘96. I couldn’t understand it from the who’s tough-on-crime aspect. It was the 100 thousand new cops promise. He bought them off, something I didn’t think cops were up to.

This is the polling arm of Investor’s Business Daily, which at one point was the sanest business publication but went “woke” and is now not worth the money. They are like Drudge—once a “go to” site but now it’s now worth the time.

In 2023 of the Biden/Harris admin, the Pentagon’s military personnel budget was $184 billion, which is the second largest category of spending for the Department of Defense (DoD)......covers pay and retirement benefits for service members.

The Pentagon’s proposed 2025 budget includes an $8.9 billion increase to $181.9 billion for military personnel, despite an expected decrease in active end force. The budget also includes a 4.5% pay raise for service members and a 2% pay raise for civilian employees.

Last year in the Biden/Harris admin, the Pentagon couldn’t properly account for a whopping 61% of its total $3.5 trillion in assets. That figure increased this year, with the department insufficiently documenting 63% of its now $3.8 trillion in assets.

Military contractors possess many of these assets, but to an extent unbeknownst to the Pentagon ........ and to Biden/Harris.

It's not complicated. A sustained, unanswered advertising and marketing campaign has been telling people this, that's why. Harris will cut taxes for hard working families, while Trump plans massive tax increases for hard working families to give money to his billionaire friends. Harris worked for everything she has, while Trump had everything handed to him. Harris will bring change, Trump is who caused all of the mess she will fix. Etc. That's what has been going on for months without response on many media outlets, and the only messages a significant number of Americans are receiving.

Messaging and marketing matter. We may yet still win, but we have made it much, much harder on ourselves than it had to be.

This poll reminds me of the ABC poll taken in Wisconsin a few days before the 2020 election showing Biden winning the state by 17 points. Total BS. Issued for propaganda purposes.

I've noticed that on her ads. Her campaign has apparently decided push the (obviously lie) that she's going to cut taxes for the "middle class" while raising them on "billionaires".

For those of us old enough to remember Bill Clinton's promised but not delivered "middle class tax cut" during the 1992 campaign--which turned into the largest tax increase in history in 1993--this is more of the same from the Party of the Father of Lies.

“...More trust Harris to bring about energy independence...”

Puppet Biden and Harris on the FIRST day in power, shut down the Keystone Pipeline and ended fracking in Pennsylvania resulting in gasoline prices to shoot up to $5.50 a gallon in 2020.

Now these “voters” supposedly trust Harris more than Trump, to bring gas prices down. Yeah Right!

How can any sane person think Harris will do more to cut taxes than Trump? How are people this stupid deciding elections?

You are referring to sane people, but keep in mind that most liberals/socialists when it comes to politics are not playing with a full deck. In several South American countries they do it all the time and then wonder why they don’t get anywhere and then try to escape, and where do they go of course the good old USA and once here they vote for the same crap again. It makes one wonder.

I saw a yard sign early today that had a simple message...

Trump Less Taxes
Harris More Taxes

I’ve also seen a couple which read “Felon 2024” LOL!

The Inflaton Reduction Act was the biggest regressive tax in history of the US. The GOP needs to scream that out every chance they get .
