The Pacer was designed to have a ROTARY ENGINE that would have come from GM but they killed that project which left AMC having to take another engine and wedge it into the small compartment it was never meant to be in...............

If they could have had some decent power plant like a 2 liter 200 hp turbo 4 banger that could have been a cool little car...maybe a bit more aerodynamic...

Imagine a buzzing sound coming from a Pacer Wankel engine.

One of the designs for the Corvette back in the early 60s that Zora Arkus-Duntov put forth was a mid-engined sports car with a four-rotor Wankel.
