NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Sedrick Alexander ran for two touchdowns, Randon Fontenette scored on a Pick-6 and Diego Pavia outplayed Heisman Trophy candidate Jalen Milroe as Vanderbilt stunned Alabama 40-35 Saturday for the Commodores' first win over the nation's top-ranked team.
Vanderbilt (3-2, 1-1) was 0-60 all-time vs. AP Top-5 teams before Saturday, the longest such streak in the Poll Era (since 1936). The Commodores hadn't beaten Alabama on the field in 40 years, but they snapped a 23-game skid by making big play after big play to give coach Clark Lea his alma mater's biggest win ever.

Cignetti is an incredible coach- absolutely incredible!!!
Was great at JMU, is kicking butt at IU.
If Ryan Day does not beat Michigan this year i could see OSU making a move for him. That Indiana team has a fraction of the talent of their rivals.
Why is Alabama’s fight chant “roll tide”?
Because no one could spell elephant.
Army and Navy both 5-0 for the first time since the 1940s.
The Hoosiers have a very favorable schedule. They don’t play Penn State or USC. They have Michigan and Nebraska at home. The trip to Columbus will be a loss, but the rest are winnable.
Never thought I’d say that about IU.
We’ll see. Ohio State really hasn’t played anybody yet.
Hope they keep it going- that will be a great game in December which will hopefully include an appearance by President Trump, just like 2016.

Go Nerds!
Paul Finebaum = sad
Army and Navy both still undefeated. Going to be one hell of a game this year.
I’m so pumped! That was a great game. Bama was looking ahead while Vandy was taken care of business “on any given” game day.
Congrats to the Commodores. Even though I’m not a Bama hater (though some tell me I should be), I am beyond thrilled that Vandy was prepared.
Where do elephants go to college?
In Tuscaloosa!
(I loved elephant jokes when I was a kid.)
The Buckeyes better stop thinking they’re the big guys and pay attention to what happened to Bama. It’s one of their biggest faults. They forget the “any given Saturday” rule. Don’t overlook the team in front of you. It doesn’t matter one whit who you play in 2 or 3 weeks. Focus. Don’t get distracted.
Unranked Washington just beat #10 Michigan 27-17.
Another team that made my day!
Watching a couple of other games on swap. Go Gators! Go Yellow Jackets! Finish strong!
Minnesota just beat USC!
What a football weekend!
Paul Finebaum says he’s covered SEC football for 40 years and in those 40 years, the best football game he saw was the Alabama VS Georgia game last saturday.
Gators were lame the second half.
I would agree, and I think I’ve been watching SEC and college football for more than 40 years.
This has been a heckuva college football weekend.
We got lucky that we won that game.
Arky Wins!!!!!
