That is a question I have. Is it better to extend the life with less pain or shorten the life with more pain. Do we have the same amount of pain with the question of how best to endure it?
I've witnessed it first hand. I had an infectious disease doctor tell me to my face to keep enough opiates on hand to push on my wife to end her suffering. No one will question it, he said, not even hospice.
