He died on August 21st and it took over a month to announce it??? He was my favorite on Good Times, damn just sucks
To: Borges
I just saw a picture of him two weeks ago.
RIP.
It is sad when the following statement now brings to mind a completely different context:
“It is with heartfelt sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned,”

It makes me wonder if it wasn’t an assisted suicide.

John Amos, ‘Good Times’ Dad and ‘Roots’ Actor, Dies at 84 I am sorry to hear this. I have always liked him and have been rooting for him every time i've seen him on television. I saw something this last year where he appeared in a fairly recent show, and I remarked to others how hale and healthy he was looking for a man of his age. I think it was the remake of "Coming to America."
Also liked him in "Beast Master." He was a cool character.

Wherever he is now, at least he’s not getting hassled, not getting hustled...

Dear Lord what a week: Maggie Smith, Kris Kristofferson, Pete Rose, Dikembe Mutumbo, John Ashton, and now John Amos. Prayers for them all.

Who is or was John Ashton?
That’s the only name that doesn’t ring a bell.
To: DiogenesLamp
Beastmaster. One of my favorites as a young teen. Watched over and over during the dawn of cable TV. Watched it a few years ago; seems corny now, but my 10 yr old (at the time) loved it
