CHARLESTON, Ill. (WAND) - A woman was arrested for her sixth DUI offense after crashing in Charleston, police said.
Charleston Police were called to the 1100 block of West Polk Ave. Tuesday around 8:30 p.m. for a vehicle that had wrecked into a ditch and was possibly on fire.
Police arrested Tikisha Stewart and charged her with aggravated driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured vehicle, driving with a revoked license, and possession of a controlled substance.
CPD said this is Stewart's sixth DUI offense between Illinois and Indiana. She does not have a valid driver's license. She also has an outstanding warrant for DUI from a 2008 case in Cook County, Illinois.
Due to Stewart's history of failing to appear in court and violating court orders, CPD placed Stewart in the Coles County Jail pending a detention hearing.
However, the judge determined the need for detention was not met, Charleston Police said. She was placed on electronic home confinement and special conditions set by the judge.

Not in my business - it’s used to identify likely non-tippers.
Wakandan
If she kills someone then the judge should be charged with murder.
I agree. They charge bartenders that over-serve drunk drivers.
A friend of ours had a DUI four years ago and is still trying to get parts of it straightened out. Not making ANY excuse for his behavior (he doesn’t either!) but it has set him back tens of thousands of dollars in fines and legal fees, he lost his passport so couldn’t go fishing or hunting up in Canada and a whole host of other things.
Of course, this was just his FIRST - it’s not like he was on his SIXTH offense like this uninsured, unlicensed chronic drunk chick! ;)
Isn’t it strange Left leaning judges are behind most actions like this and engage in overturning laws and other rulings while Right leaning judges are almost never heard from?
