NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The 2024 Atlantic hurricane season is the busiest it’s been all year. Three named storms have formed with Helene making landfall in Florida as a major Category 4 hurricane.
Helene is the fourth hurricane to make landfall and the second major hurricane in the Atlantic basin this year. It will also be the strongest of the year with winds approaching 130 mph.
Isaac is a tropical storm that’s expected to stay in the Atlantic and head east away from the United States. It’s slated to strengthen into a hurricane before dissipating within the week.
Joyce formed off the coast of Africa. It will take the path around a ridge of high pressure in the Atlantic, keeping it out to sea.

and neither storm will be a threat....will die in the open ocean.
If a hurricane doesn’t hit landfall does it make a noise?
No but it gets fifteen minutes of air time each hour.
I guess I can move my patio furniture back out for now.
This ruins the childish threads FREEPERS had just two weeks ago laughing about the hurricane season. I guess they don’t know all afterall.
My sister and brother in law cancelled their Panama City anniversary trip due to the hurricane. They were sitting in their house in Charlotte last night with trees down and power out. Right now, in Bay County, which is where Panama City is, there is one household without electricity.

Been such a quiet start to this year's hurricane season, looks like Mother Nature is making up for it.
Actually...I take full blame for Helene. I was just chatting with someone last week about how cool it was starting to get in the evenings here in the Tampa area and how we might not have any more hurricanes to worry about this year. Not two days later a major storm was grinding towards us. I jinxed us! Sorry everybody. ;o)
Thanks
I’m so sorry
