Vice-presidential nominee JD Vance has a go-to explanation for his evolution from outspoken critic to impassioned defender of Donald Trump: He says he was converted by Trump’s achievements in the White House...
“I’m sympathetic to the idea that there’s a lot of long-term economic damage being done. But it’s always draped in this bizarre desire to pretend the virus itself isn’t a problem,” he wrote in May 2020....
“Trump has just so thoroughly failed to deliver on his economic populism (excepting a disjointed China policy),” Vance wrote in February 2020.
In the direct messages — sent during Trump’s final year in office to an acquaintance over the social media platform then known as Twitter — Vance harshly criticized his future running mate’s record of governance and said Trump had not fulfilled his economic agenda....
Vance spokesman William Martin said Vance’s 2020 assessment of Trump’s failure to deliver on his economic policies was not meant as a criticism of the former president, but of “establishment Republicans who thwarted much of Trump’s populist economic agenda to increase tariffs and boost domestic manufacturing in Congress.”...
In another of the 2020 messages, he expressed openness to a holy grail of the progressive left: a government-run universal health-care system, or Medicare-for-all. In a February 2020 message Vance wrote that “M4A,” as he called it, “is maybe a net positive, maybe not (details matter).”...
Vance said he doubted that Trump’s richest donors would abandon him in 2020 because he had continued to serve their interests as president, despite his populist rhetoric....
In February 2020, he wrote to his acquaintance that he believed they were both working with the same long-term approach to achieve their political goals.
“You’re playing a strategic game,” Vance wrote, “the same as me.”

I had to chop this article to meet the excerpt maximum, but nowhere does Vance or his spokesman deny that he messaged these remarks (in an exchange he initiated!)
Gee Washington Compost, did you get that from the hacked docs that Iran sent ya
Don’t be a concern troll. Vance has repeatedly said again and again that he was wrong then.
More importantly his actions have given him the bona fides America needs.
That was my concern. If so, they need to be prosecuted.
the compost has convinced me
im voting for the kommie
So what. Kamala suggested Joe Biden was a racist and believed the woman who accused him of sexual assault.
The Washington Post teaming up with Iran is hilarious.
Did you read the answer to this?
He was talking about the Republican House and Senate failing to support. That is the simple truth.
Remember McCain killing the Obamacare fix?
My recollection is that he said he came about this realization during the Trump Presidency, not after it.
My recollection is that he said he came about this realization during the Trump Presidency, not after it.
That’s why I added that the Vance spokesman acknowledged the veracity of the report but tried spinning it.
This was from a Twitter exchange, not the Iranian hack.
That was the spin. At the time was making these remarks, he wasn’t blaming Capitol Hill Republicans.
Indeed one can be sure Trump knows how the real issues is or he wouldn’t have selected J.D. Vance he’s a smart guy and understands how the democrats operate.
Ill be honest….Trump delivered right up until covid. The policies and actions he took were driven by mass hysteria and untruthful experts. The CARES act and the shutdown were not good for the nation from the perspective of a republican imho.

It should be chopped entirely, General Demoralization.
As should you and the entire cadre of concern trolls.
Pelosi and Schumer blocked everything after the 2018 midterms. WTH could he do by himself?
Kamala: "It's a DEBATE! Haw haw haw haw haw haw."
Colbert tried again.
Kamala: "It's a DEBATE! Haw haw haw haw haw."
Yes, it was weird. But it clearly showed that her Biden is a racist claim meant absolutely nothing to her. It was just something she flung in his face.
I don’t think so. I think his ideas were evolving. You could tell it in his 2022 campaign for the Senate. I’m from Ohio.
He voted for Trump, he says, in 2020, so, that’s an improvement over Evan McMullin in 2016. It’s obvious he was in the middle of reevaluation.
Also, it’s good to remember that he was just 36 in 2020 and will be 40 this August.
So, my guess is that Trump’s help in 2022 gave him insight that changed his thinking even more.
