In my 45 years of infectious diseases practice, I have been called on to analyze the bloody band-aid in the pizza, the needle in the Big Mac, the body fluids in the Dunkin’ Donuts coffee, and the dead mouse in almost anything. Have not seen the frog in the salad yet, but why not?
Almost all of these are quick hit shakedown attempts to get the food purveyor to pony up short money for the emotional distress. Once a restaurant or market defends itself, they usually go away because none of the complainants want to go under oath.
But, as I said - frog in the salad? Why not?
