I had a very good friend. A doctor with “Doctors without borders”. RIP. He told some very harrowing tales while teaching in Haiti. One that stuck with me was the women, he was teaching to be nurses, would spit on the floor of the makeshift hospital. I guess if you hacked up a luggie, you couldn’t swallow it because it would kill you.
